This holiday season, we’ll be dashing through the snow in a one horse open sleigh. The office of Councilwoman Heather Hutt in collaboration with various community partners including; The Empowerment Congress West Neighborhood Council, The Department of Parks and Recreations, and the surrounding businesses hosted a special free ‘Snow Night in Leimert Park’  holiday celebration for families in the community.  Nearly 1000 community members from all across the Tenth District enjoyed snow sledding, ice skating, a train ride, live music, arts and crafts, pictures with Santa, tacos from local favorite Taco Mel, and an assorted mélange of ice cream from Leimert Park’s, All Chill Ice Cream.

“We were thrilled to host this wonderful and much-needed celebration for the 10th District, and grateful to all of the partners for helping to facilitate this event,” said Councilwoman, Heather Hutt. “We know that Leimert Park is the cultural center of Los Angeles and there is no better place for a day of festivities than in the heart of CD10.”

Atterby Fields Foundation. The park was transformed into a winter wonderland with over 40 tons of snow.

As a part of the 10th Council District’s commitment to reinvest in local culture and commerce, the event included a holiday night market featuring over 20 local vendors.
